Draft script for the 1981 film, an early iteration issued nearly two years prior to the film's release. Title page somewhat oddly notes cast and crew members from the 1978 stage production-nonetheless, this is a script for the film version.
Based on the 1978 play, wherein a deeply conservative judge becomes the first woman to be appointed to the US Supreme Court, leading to a friendly rivalry with an older liberal associate justice.
Set and shot in Washington, DC and California.
Beige titled wrappers, with credits for screenwriters Robert E. Lee and Jerome Lawrence. Title page present, dated 9 FEBRUARY, 1979, with credits for the stage production's director EDWIN SHERIN, and stage actors HENRY FONDA and EVA MARIE SAINT. 114 leaves, with last page of text numbered II-63.
