Description
This is 10, 15, 25, or 22 bulbs of the finest tasting garlic in the world braided together in the old-world 2 row style.I can say that with a straight face because after growing over 80 varieties and being told countless times by our customers over the past 15 years that it is, I can only believe these hundreds of garlic aficionados. It is the best garlic you will find in the US right now, guaranteed.
This ancient strain that originated in Spain was brought to Baja California 500 years ago by missionaries. It is a silver skin soft-neck variety which is a stunning change from the sprouting store bought garlic you get right now. The flavor is strong and pungent with a smooth finish. A nice bite when raw, the heat can be cooked out of it to produce a mellow sweet garlic flavor. Excellent for roasting. NO SPROUTING! Very fresh and juicy and won't dry out.
10, 15, or 25 large bulbs are between 2 1/2" and 3" wide with about 20 cloves inside. The bouquets have about 22 smaller bulbs about 1"-1 1/2". The 10 bulb braid and the bouquet weighs about 1 lb. The 15 bulb braid, about 1 1/2 lbs. And the 25 bulb braid weighs about 2 1/2 to 3 lbs. It looks great hanging in your kitchen where you can cut a bulb off from the top of the braid when you need garlic for cooking. This reveals more of the beautiful hand woven braid behind the bulb, so it looks beautiful the whole time you are using it. It has a very durable all-natural palm frond tie to hang it from. It also makes a great decoration.
We are an organic farm, certified by OTCO, and we grow 3 crops of garlic each year in three different locations to ensure our customers have FRESH garlic all year around. All of our farms are in pristine locations with very clean air, water, and soil far removed from any industry. Don't be fooled. Most garlic you will find now was harvested 10 months ago. This was harvested a couple months ago, cured for a month, and is now ready to make all of your dishes explode with flavor!
Cost includes all the hard labor of a crop that takes 6 months to produce and the shipping to get it to your kitchen. Thank you for supporting small farming. If you order before May 1, this is a pre-order and we will not begin shipping until then. We are very busy the first week of May and have hundreds of orders to catch up on. If you order up until May 15th please be patient with handling and turn around time. Thank you!
