Description
Chippewa, Ojibwa, Long Nose Ricing Canoe,Custom made 1985.
15 feet long
Has Custom Side Drops along the gunnels.
Always stored indoors in Living room on ceiling out of the sun. Only padded a few times at lakes at Pre-1840 Living History Mountain Man Rendezvous. Won the Best Primitive Camp at Frog Holler Pre a paddle in pre-1840 Mountain Man Rendezvous in 1990. I used 2 - paddles to support the tarp which was draped over the canoe. Slept under a bear skin, two candles at night an it rained each night. Canoe was featured in Money Magazine for an Isuzu ad. Pics taken for ad at Timothy Lake across from Mt . Hood in Oregon. Photographer took 15 rolls of film from across the lake with huge telephoto lens & grease on the bottom part of lens to make Isuzu look like it was moving. Isuzu was not moving. In-fact it was on jacks right next to the lake. They wrapped ropes around the tires, pulled the ropes & swept dirt at the tires to give the illusion Isuzu was moving.
